Helen Francis MacKinlay

MacKinlay, Helen Francis (102), Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough and formerly of Sherbrooke, Guysborough County, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in the home. Born in Liscomb, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Maude Ella (Smith) MacKinlay. In earlier years, Helen worked for the telephone office and at the General Store. She loved to knit, sew and do needlework. She is survived by sister Clarissa “Claire” Cooke, Ontario; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Lawrence, Smith, Ellis, Reginald; sisters Eileen Little, Ruby Turner. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 1pm in G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, St. Mary’s Chapel, 34 Main Street Sherbrooke with Rev. Melissa Frankland officiating. Private family burial will follow in St. James Anglican Cemetery, Sherbrooke. Memorial donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Sherbrooke. Funeral arrangements are under the dignified and compassionate care of the G.W.
