Obituary for the Late

Paula May Richard

RICHARD, Paula May (64), Dartmouth, formerly of Country Harbour, Guysborough Country. It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our dearly beloved mother who passed away after a courageous battle with lung disease on January 24, 2010 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late McRitchie and Evelyn (Hudson) Hayne. She was a loving mother of five daughters who adored her and loved to pamper and take care of her. Most of her time was spent with her daughters and granddaughters on day excursions, shopping trips and dinner parties. Paula was also known to have the odd telephone conversation, sometimes being quite lengthy. Her hobbies included making long lists, poetry and baking rolled out biscuits. Paula also loved reading the newspapers, especially The Guysborough Journal. She also enjoyed being with her friends and family and loved everyone. She is survived by daughters Darcie (Kenny) Hart, Canso; Valerie (Darin) Smith, Kingston, Ont.; Nicole (Vernon) Boudreau, Dartmouth; Tara (Mark) Turner, Bedford; Claudette (Tim) Hardy, Dartmouth; special granddaughters Melissa, Brittany, Amanda, Victoria, Marle, Maggie and her angel Kiersten Paula; siblings Elliott (Barbara), Valerie (Kerry) Gallen, Norman (Alana), Blake (Susan), all of Country Harbour; former husband Doug Richard; several nieces and nephews.
