GEORGE, Donna Maria, Age 57, of Sherbrooke, Guysborough Co., passed away at home on Friday, August 28,2015. Born in Halifax on July 20, 1958, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Rita (Kelly) George. Donna was a Registered Nurse who had worked at The IWK in Halifax, and for many years at St Mary's Memorial Hospital in Sherbrooke. As well she nursed in New Zealand and Saudi Arabia for a period of time. Donna traveled extensively and made many lifelong friends along the way. Her special friends were Paul and Nancy Parker of New Zealand along with their daughters, Sophie and Eva (whom she adored) who became her second family,. Donna is survived by her sisters, Carol(Larry)Murphy, Wellington; Joan(William)McNeil, Sherbrooke; Ann, Halifax. She has many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Ron. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donna’s memory may be made to Sherbrooke Volunteer Fire Department. Cremation has taken place. A tribute service and celebration of Donna’s life will take place on Saturday, September 5 from 2-5 p.m. in the Exhibit Centre, Sherbrooke Historic Village.
