HARRIS, Frederick "Fred" Alexander ~ Age 77, Country Harbour, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015, in High-Crest Sherbrooke Home for Special Care. Born in Country Harbour, he was a son of the late Alex and Thelma (Keith) Harris. Fred was known as an excellent dozer operator. He took great pride in his work as a heavy equipment operator in Ontario, Fort McMurray, and Nova Scotia. He loved to play cards, go dancing, and to travel. He was a certified scuba diver. Fred also enjoyed spending time driving his four wheeler. He was most proud of his son and was a loving father. He loved to laugh and tell jokes and will be remembered for his sense of humour and pleasant personality. Fred is survived by his wife, Theresa (Richard); son, Richard, Halifax; brother, Gary (Luella), Country Harbour and many nieces and nephews, of whom he was very fond. He was predeceased by brothers, Brent, Carvell and Keith. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Country Harbour with Rev. Kristin MacKenzie and Rev. Derek Elsworth officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Country Harbour. A reception will follow in the Country Harbour Gun Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimers Society of Nova Scotia. The family would like to thank all staff at High Crest Sherbrooke Home for their devoted care to Fred during his time with them.
