Munroe, Wayne Paul Age 69, of Whitehead, Guysborough Co. passed away in Guysborough Memorial Hospital on Monday, May 16, 2016.   Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Arklo and Katherine (Munro) Munroe. Wayne was a fisherman for most of his life; although he had other jobs, he was happiest on the water.  Wayne was a loving, generous husband and father. He liked an occasional rum and Pepsi and loved to socialize at dances in St. Andrew’s. He was an avid reader of history and true crime. His favorite thing was telling a dirty joke and making people laugh. His favorite poem was an amusing and scientifically inaccurate one about why dogs sniff one another! Of all his hobbies, he liked nothing better than a good argument, particularly with Patsy.   Much loved and forever missed by his wife of forty-six years, Céline (Boudreau); daughters, Marcia (Ralph Johnson), Halifax, and Trudy (Michael Hendsbee), Port Felix. Wayne is also survived by his sister, Joan Manuel, P.E.I.; first-mate Ralph Parker and dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by sister, Barbara Ann Rhynold; brothers, Greg, Gary and Paul in infancy. Visitation will be held in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Port Felix, Monday, May 23, from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. from where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 P.M., with Rev. Dan MacDonald officiating. Interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Guysborough Memorial Hospital. The family would like to say thank you to the nurses and staff of Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements are under the dignified and compassionate care of G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, 17545 Highway 316, Country Harbour. On-line condolences may be made at www.gwgiffin.com
