Kaiser, Dolores Natalie Age 77, of Port Bickerton, passed away in St. Mary's Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Born in Port Bickerton on November 7, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Borden and Blanche (Fanning) Kaiser. Dolores was a dedicated member of the Port Bickerton United Baptist Church, a part of the church Ladies' Aid and later served as church clerk and treasurer. Dolores began her work life in the office of the Bickerton Co-op fish plant; worked as a bookkeeper on Martha’s Vineyard and later established "By the Sea" Bed & Breakfast in Port Bickerton. She loved to knit and quilt; B&B guests took her quilts all over the world. She canvassed for many organizations; and led Brownies and Girl Guides. She enjoyed evening courses at the Cape Cod Community College. Dolores also passionately served on the District of St. Mary’s School Board. She found humor in little things, enjoyed puns and was always ready to beat you in a game of cribbage or Scrabble! She cherished the lifelong friendships that she and Bruce made over the years. A loving mother and devoted wife, Dolores always aspired to lead a life of immaculate attention to detail and graciousness. She is survived by son, Sam, Port Bickerton; daughters, Roxanne and Sandra, both of Halifax; grandchildren, Bruce, St. John’s; and Rebecca, Dartmouth. Dolores was predeceased by husband, Bruce; brother, Earle and son-in-law, Tom. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, in G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, St. Mary’s Chapel, 34 Main St., Sherbrooke. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Port Bickerton United Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Pearce officiating. Interment to follow in Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Port Bickerton United Baptist Church or the Hillside Cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements are under the dignified and compassionate care of G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, St. Mary’s Chapel, Sherbrooke. On-line condolences may be made at www.gwgiffin.com.
