Salsman, Jean "Bernice" Age 75 of Halifax and formerly of Larry’s River, Guysborough County. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernice Salsman on Sunday, August 21, 2016 who passed away peacefully with her daughters, Dawn and Monica by her side in QE II, Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Stormont, she was a daughter of the late Almon and Edith (Cooke) Langille. Bernice was raised by her grandparents, Winton and Odessa (Stevens) Langille.  Bernice was an employee of the former Canso Fish Plant during the 1970’s. She later went on to become a PCW, working in Guysborough, Canso and Antigonish. Left to mourn are daughters, Dawn Salsman (Joan) and Monica Pellerin, both of Halifax; Wanda (Kevin) Richard, Stormont; sons, Carl (Theresa), Grand Lake; Lloyd (Margie), Stormont; and her predeceased companion’s children, Rev. Frank Pellerin, Halifax and Helen Pellerin, Montreal; grandchildren, Bailey, (Her Special Bay),  Brendon, Erin, Ethan and Liam, only brother, Edmund (Lynn), Eight Island Lake; uncles, Arnold, Ronald, and aunt Lillian, several nieces and nephews. Bernice was predeceased by her long-time companion, Frank Pellerin on February 29, 2016, niece, Lisa Langille. The family would like to thank the staff on 5.2 ICU for their outstanding care and attention given to Bernice.  Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Communities Along the Bay Multipurpose Center, Bradford Pellerin Room, Larry’s River, from where a memorial service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Frank Pellerin officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Funeral arrangements are under the dignified and compassionate care of G.W.
