Riley, Murray Owen ~ Age 84, New Glasgow and formerly of
Indian Harbour Lake, Guysborough Co. It is with heavy hearts we
announce the passing of our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather

Indian Harbour Lake, he was a son of the late Nina Grace Riley. He was
raised by his Aunt Minnie (Riley) Jordan after the passing of his
mother from T.B. in 1940. Murray was a dedicated husband and father.
As a young man he fished with his Uncle Wallace and drove a truck,
hauling produce from Nova Scotia to Maine. He took a job with Stanley
Reid Construction where he became a certified blaster, crane operator
and heavy duty machine operator. He work for the company until its
closing in the late 80’s, he then ran his own woods
operation for a few years until he had heart surgery. In the years
that followed he worked for Carl McGrath doing blasting and heavy
machine operation. He was a tinker and jack-of-all-trades, and had a
quick wit. He loved his family, hunting with his boys, working on
machinery, building things and later in life taking long nature walks
with his furry friends. Murray is survived by sons, Richard (Patty),
