MANTHORNE, Patricia Ann "Pat" Age 71 of Churchville, Pictou Co., and formerly of Country Harbour, Guysborough Co., died Sunday, January 6, 2019 in Aberdeen Regional Hospital, New Glasgow with her daughter by her side. Born in Antigonish on July 13, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Minnie Alberta (Johnston) Hallett. In her early years, she met and married the love of her life, Cole. She set out with him to Ontario where she sailed the Great Lakes on freight boats with him as second cook/night cook. After living for a time in Quebec and New Brunswick, they moved to Halifax where she was employed at both Zellers and Sears. Upon moving home to Country Harbour, she was employed with the Department of Highways until 1985 when she decided to become a stay at home mother and homemaker following the birth of her daughter. In 2017, she was blessed with the new role of grandmother to "the sweetest little thing this side of heaven", Colbourne. She was a beautiful seamstress and loved to work on crafts as well as her garden. Her wit and storytelling will be missed by all those who knew her. She is survived by daughter, Andrea (Forrest) Jenkins, Springville; grandson, Colbourne; half-sister, Rita (Dale) Mason, Country Harbour; aunt, Kathleen (Robert) Davidson, Isaac’s Harbour; uncle, Charles (Cathy) Johnston, Scarborough, Ontario; nieces, Erica Mason, Moncton, Nicole (Kendall) MacEachern, Country Harbour; several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, Eugene Colburne "Cole" Manthorne; mother, Minnie Hallett; uncle, Robert Johnston; nephew, Jason Mason. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service by request. Burial in the Stormont Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
