Hartling, Vivian Viola Divine
Age 83 ofSpanish Ship Bay, Guysborough County, passed
away Saturday, February 2, 2019, in St. Mary’s Memorial
Hospital, Sherbrooke. Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the
late James and Bessie (Baker) Reid. Prior to her marriage, Vivian
worked at Liscomb Lobster Factory. She was a homemaker, mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother. Vivian was a great community
supporter, faithful volunteer and member of many organizations and
community groups including: St. Luke’s Anglican Church,
Liscomb, a member of the Vestry; Liscomb Legion Branch No. 86;
Honorary Lifetime Member of Liscomb Volunteer Fire Department; St.
Mary’s Garden Club; Women’s Institute of Nova
Scotia, Spanish Ship Bay Branch; and volunteered at High-Crest
Sherbrooke Home For Special Care. She is survived by sons,
Jimmie, Lower Sackville; Barry (Brenda), Garden of Eden; Darren
(Cheryl), Indian Harbour Lake; daughters, Mary (Allan)
Nauffts, Spanish Ship Bay; Reta (Wayne) McIndless, Ontario; Lucy
Stuart, Abercrombie; Viola Wilson (Eddie Green), Lower Sackville; 16
grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Lauretta Baker,
High-Crest Sherbrooke Home For Special Care; sisters-in-law, Florence
Reid, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow; Caroline (Basil) Burns, Milford
Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough; several nieces,
nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank;
a daughter in infancy; brother, Weldon Reid. Visitation will be held
Thursday from 6 to 8pm in St. Luke’s Anglican Church,
Liscomb from where funeral service will be held on Friday at 2pm with
Rev. Kristin MacKenzie officiating. Interment to follow in St.
Luke’s Anglican Cemetery. Family flowers only please.

Church. Vivian’s family would like to say a special thank
