Jewers, Earl Huntley Age 97 of
Lochaber, Antigonish County passed away Wednesday, February, 6, 2019
in Green Meadows Community Residence, North Grant. Born in Liscomb
Mills, he was a son of the late Ross and Nona (Rodenizer) Jewers. He
served in the Second World War, in Belgium, Holland, Germany and
France with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders landing on Juno Beach on
D-Day. It meant a lot to Earl in 2015 to receive the French Legion of
Honor Medal, the highest French order of merit for military and civil
merits as well as his service medals. He travelled and worked with
various construction companies including Stanley Reid Construction
over the years. He loved nature and appreciated all its beauty. Earl
was a quiet and humble man who enjoyed interacting with people of all
ages. He was a longstanding and faithful member of Goshen Gospel
Church. Earl is survived by daughter, Joan (Keith) Lewis, Lochaber;
grandchildren, Sandy (Krista) Archibald, David Archibald, Susan
(Curtis) Mahar; Blair Jewers; Linda (Sandy) Smith;
great-grandchildren, Carter Mahar, Katelyn and Alexandra
Archibald; Lilly, Daniel and Jane Jewers Smith; Kayden Jewers; sister,
June MacLean; sister-in-law, Dorothy Jewers; many nieces, nephews and
their families. He was predeceased by his wife, Marion (Jordan); son,
Leigh; brother, Carl; sister, Joyce (Edgar) Nickerson; brother-in-law,
Daniel MacLean. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in
Lochaber Centre, 1555 Highway 7 with Pastor John Luten officiating.
Burial will take place at a later date in Stewart Cemetery, Lochaber.

Stewart Cemetery Fund. Earl’s family would like to
say a special thank you to Dana Taylor, his grandson David, the
Antigonish Home Makers and VON for all they did which allowed him to
stay at home as long as possible and to Green Meadows Community
Residence staff for their compassion and care shown to him over the
