Hudson, Richard Leonard "Richie" Age 79, of Country Harbour, Guysborough Co., passed away suddenly on Sunday March 3, 2019 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.  Born in Seal Harbour, Guysborough Co., on February 13, 1940, he was a son of the late Mary Langille (Hudson) and Everett Hudson, both of Country Harbour. Richie was employed by Michelin Tire for 27 years, but his true love was the 13 years he spent on the Great Lakes freighters.  Richie was a diehard Habs fan his entire life. He was in his happy place when he was fishing at the "Big Lake".  He loved spending time with friends, visiting neighbours, playing cards, and enjoying a little free rum.  He could spend hours reminiscing about his days on the Lakes. He was a devoted father to Deborah (David) Cook, Windsor Junction; Kim (Peter) Frederick, Dartmouth; and loyal husband to his predeceased wife of 50 years, Ileen (Cooke). Richie is survived by brothers, Henry, Antigonish; Raymond (Louise), James River; sister, Muriel Harris, Halifax; "grandchildren", Paget and Zachery Houston; sisters-in-law, June and Elaine Hudson, many nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by brothers, Everett "Junior"; Randolph "Randy"; sister-in-law, Gladys Hudson, brother-in-law, Whitman Harris. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. Please note the Celebration of Life will be held in the Country Harbour Gun Club, Country Harbour.
