HODGSON, Helen Dorothy Age 100, of Sherbrooke and formerly of Country Harbour, Guysborough County, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 in High-Crest Sherbrooke Home for Special Care. Born in Port Dufferin, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary (McLellan) Barkhouse. Helen was the oldest surviving member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church and had been a member for 70 years. She is survived by sons, MacKay (Audrey), MacPherson Mills; Angus (Darlene), Country Harbour; Bernie (Jessie Lee) North River; daughters; Catherine Levasseur, Lower Sackville; Marie (Wayne) Veinotte, Country Harbour; brother, Norman Barkhouse, Port Dufferin; sisters, Jean Martin, Watt Section; Carmie Fleet, Dartmouth; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren;  many nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry; son, Bayne, daughter-in-law, Roma; a son in infancy; a granddaughter in infancy; son-in-law, Noel; brothers, Winsloe, Thomas, Basil, George;  sisters, Edith, Lila, Freda, Alice, Nina, and Sadie. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2- 4 and 7-9 p.m. in G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Country Harbour with Rev. Sue Channen officiating. Interment in Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery at a later date.
