Malloy, Beatrice Josephine It was with sad hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Beatrice Josephine Malloy, age 95 on Monday, June 3rd, 2019. Lovingly known as Bea, she was born April 6th, 1924 in Country Harbour. As a young girl, Bea met a handsome young man named Marshall "Marsh" Malloy, and it was love at first sight. They moved to Halifax, where they started their family, having a son, Donald, and a daughter, Nancy. Bea worked at Dominion most of her career and enjoyed many summers with her family at the cottage in Isaac's Harbour, and Rawdon Gold Mines campground, where she would learn to craft the latest trends. Bea had many friends and was very involved with the Fairview United Church, as well as the Crown Jewels of Canada ladies club.  She was a perfect hostess; she baked and cooked her special dishes to share at any gathering, whether it was a card party, a special event or a holiday. Bea will be fondly remembered for her sharp wit and loving smile. What made her most happy was spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great grand-children. She will be sadly missed by children, Donald (Karen) Malloy and Nancy Oickle (Earl); sister, Lois; grandchildren, Lynn (Chris) Malloy, Marshall (Kelly) Malloy, Travis Oickle, Jason (Crystal) Malloy, Lisa Hutt, and Scott (Tasja) Malloy. Great-grandchildren, Sherrylynn (Tom) Smith, Hunter Cole, Derek Spinks, Jacob Malloy, Evan Malloy, Keira Hutt, Shelbey Hutt, Amber Lace, Hunter Hutt, and Grace Malloy. Great- great-grandchildren, Nathan Smith, Rielyn Lace, many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Stanley Sutherland (a WW1 Veteran) and Lois (Hudson) Sutherland (of Country Harbour), husband, Marshall Malloy, daughter-in-law Carrie Malloy, son-in-law, Barry Oickle, brother, Reg Sutherland, sister-in-law, Vera Sutherland and brother-in-law, Roland Theriault. Special thanks to all the caregivers involved in Bea’s care; VON, Northwood and the Palliative Care Team. The family would also like to give a very special thank you to Lynn, Chris and Myrtle for all the love and support they have provided to Nanny over the past 5 years, and up to the end of her life. You will always have a special place in Nanny’s heart. Service to follow at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to Isaac’s Harbour Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the dignified and compassionate care of G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, 17545 Hwy 316, Country Harbour, N.S. On line condolences may be made at www.gwgiffin.com.
