Eldridge Arthur Feltmate

Feltmate, Eldridge Arthur Age 83, of Antigonish, and formerly of Eight Island Lake, Guysborough Co., passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, June 27, 2019, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Antigonish, Eldridge was a son of the late John and Essie (Stewart) Feltmate.  Eldridge worked as a laborer in the woods for local contractors in the Goshen area of which 27 years were with Murray Feltmate. He was a jack of all trades and loved working on old cars and trucks. He was known as the "King" of the blueberry fields in Country Harbour. Eldridge was a faithful member of Bethel Community Church, Lochiel Lake. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Charlotte (Taylor); sons, Randi (Lori), Eight Island Lake; Rubin (Rose), New Glasgow;  daughter, Ellen (Clint) Boutilier, Frasers Mountain; grandchildren, Amanda (David) Burns Watson;  Beverly (Sandra) Burns Clemons;  step grandchildren, Tyler Campbell; Samantha Cochrane; Maggie and Brooke Feltmate; Jodi and Holly Boutilier; step great-grandchildren, Max Campbell; Caleb, Mia, and Lani Coolen; Dakota and Kaylin Sponagle; brothers, Ken (Christine), Pictou; Gary (Edie), Caribou; John Francis (Marion), Scotsburn; sister, Thelma (Wade) Chenell, Magdalen Islands; several nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by daughter, Annette; granddaughter, Nancy Burns; brothers, Stewart, Jackie and Joe; sister, Janet Feltmate. Funeral service will be held Monday, July 8th at 2 p.m. in Bethel Community Church, Lochiel Lake with Pastor Freda Steeves and Pastor Jerry Sterns officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Bethel Community Church Cemetery Fund or Diabetes Canada (N.S.).
