Crooks, Betty Dorothy Age 90, of Antigonish, and formerly of Seal Harbour, Guysborough Co., passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2019, in R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish. Born in Uckfield, County Sussex, England, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorothy (Simmons) Loughlin, and step-father, William H. Jones.  Betty came to Canada on the July 14, 1973. She was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 59, Antigonish. She is survived by her sister, Vee (John) Beal, brother, Keith, many family members and friends in England and Ontario. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Courtney "Poppa" Crooks; brothers, Bill, Fred, Tom, Frank, twins in infancy, James and Antony. Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 11:30am-12:30pm in G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour, with funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Country Harbour with Rev. Sue Channen officiating. Interment in Bayview Cemetery, Goldboro. Memorial donations may be made to the R.K. MacDonald Foundation, Recreation Department.
