AVERY, Mary Edna Age 91, of Larry’s River, Guysborough County. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mom on Sunday, December 29, 2019 in Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough. Born in Larry’s River, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mamie (Gerrior) Delorey. Mary was a devoted homemaker and mother who loved her family. She was no stranger to hard work, and would do anything she could for others. She worked at various jobs, clerk with Canada Post, the Co-op, for many years, Canso Fish Plant, the Lobster Factory and Blueberry Canning Factory in Larry’s River. She loved planting a garden, going for walks in the woods to pick May flowers or balsam. She would pack up on a dime to spend the day or night at the camp with the boys. Mary spent many memorable trips with her sisters visiting other siblings when she was younger. Mary is survived by sons, Francis (Linda), Calgary, AB.; Peter (Terry), Larry’s River; Doug (Paula), Antigonish; Hughie (Mary), Hammonds Plains; Archie (Lisa), Antigonish; daughters, Margaret (John), Whitehead; Sandra, Larry’s River; grandchildren, Tracy, Shane, Brent, Andrew, David, Cory, Patrick, Ashley, Mandy, Brittany, Joshua, Breanna, Brennan; great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Dawson, Chloe, Ethan and Brooke; brothers, John, Larry’s River; Francis (Maryanne), Hay River; Paul (Davida), Hay River; sisters, Sr. Theresa, Ottawa; Margaret, Quebec; Yvonne (Dennis), Larry’s River; Rose (Bill), Lower Sackville; sisters-in-law, Helen Delorey and Karen Delorey; many nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband, of 65 years, David; brothers, Joseph, Raymond, Peter; sisters, Gertrude, Dora; grandson, Lee Avery and son-in-law, Wayne.
