AVERY, Mary Edna Age 91, of
Larry’s River, Guysborough County. It is with great sadness
that we announce the passing of our dear mom on Sunday, December 29,
2019 in Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough. Born in
Larry’s River, she was a daughter of the late Frank and
Mamie (Gerrior) Delorey. Mary was a devoted homemaker and mother who
loved her family. She was no stranger to hard work, and would do
anything she could for others. She worked at various jobs, clerk with
Canada Post, the Co-op, for many years, Canso Fish Plant, the Lobster
Factory and Blueberry Canning Factory in Larry’s River. She
loved planting a garden, going for walks in the woods to pick May
flowers or balsam. She would pack up on a dime to spend the day or
night at the camp with the boys. Mary spent many memorable trips with
her sisters visiting other siblings when she was younger. Mary is
survived by sons, Francis (Linda), Calgary, AB.; Peter (Terry),
Larry’s River; Doug (Paula), Antigonish; Hughie (Mary),
Hammonds Plains; Archie (Lisa), Antigonish; daughters, Margaret
(John), Whitehead; Sandra, Larry’s River; grandchildren,
Tracy, Shane, Brent, Andrew, David, Cory, Patrick, Ashley, Mandy,
Brittany, Joshua, Breanna, Brennan; great-grandchildren, Jordyn,
Dawson, Chloe, Ethan and Brooke; brothers, John, Larry’s
River; Francis (Maryanne), Hay River; Paul (Davida), Hay River;
sisters, Sr. Theresa, Ottawa; Margaret, Quebec; Yvonne (Dennis),
Larry’s River; Rose (Bill), Lower Sackville; sisters-in-law,
Helen Delorey and Karen Delorey; many nieces, nephews and their
families. She was predeceased by her husband, of 65 years, David;
brothers, Joseph, Raymond, Peter; sisters, Gertrude, Dora; grandson,
Lee Avery and son-in-law, Wayne. Visitation will be held Friday from
5-9 p.m. in the Communities Along the Bay Multipurpose Center,
Bradford Pellerin Room, Larry’s River. Funeral service will
take place Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic
Church, Larry’s River with Rev. William Crispo officiating.
Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please.
