Mona Edith (Silver) Bezanger

1943-2020

Mona Edith (Silver) Bezanger

Bezanger (Silver), Mona Edith We are heartbroken to announce on Friday, March 20, 2020 Mona quietly passed away in St. Martha's Hospital Regional, Antigonish. Knowing she would be going home in a few days, she passed peacefully with joy in her heart. Born October 18, 1943, Mona was a daughter of the late Perry and Vivian (Henderson) Silver of Goldboro. Mona resided with her parents until she and her husband, Raymond Bezanger, of Isaac's Harbour, were wed 38 years ago. In her earlier years she was employed as a custodian at Bayview School in Goldboro and as a numerator for the Dept of Highways, before the road was paved. Mona enjoyed bingo, embroidery and baking as well as helping her parents. Mona was happy to be a homemaker most of her life. During her later years, while living with Parkinson Disease, she got great pleasure feeding the birds and chipmunks and being home with Raymond. Mona loved her dogs, Sam, Bucky, then Lucky. She was very kind to her family and many friends who she would call daily to see how they were doing and ask if there was "any news".  Mona loved her dear friends, Myra Carter and Angie Walsh who were so very good to her. Mona had a loving bond with her niece, Karen, who spent 6 weeks with her at the hospital.  She will be dearly missed by her husband Raymond; sisters, Bessie Skodje; Sharon (Scott) Filian; brother, Ansel (Barbara) Silver; 10 nieces, nephews and their children; and her friends.  Mona was predeceased by brothers-in-law, Oddmund Skodje and Keith Luddington. A special thank you to Dr. Martin Eckhart and all Mona's nurses for their care and compassion. To Raquel, RN, who held and hugged our "little bird" as she slipped away, "thank you with all our heart". Due to the Covid-19 virus a private family graveside service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Isaac's Harbour Cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements are under the care of G.W.Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour. On-line condolences may be made at www.gwgiffin.com
