Grover, Arnold James "Arnie" It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Arnold "Arnie" Grover of Antigonish, Dartmouth, and Corner Brook, Newfoundland, announce his passing on Tuesday, March 24, 2020. He was a son of Bill (Penney) Grover and his mom, the late Jamesine Sangster. Arnie was a kind and quiet man who gave from his heart. He had a passion for outdoor life which was obvious to those who accompanied him on many hunting, fishing and boating trips in Newfoundland and New Harbour; a place he also called home and that was near and dear to his heart. For many years, Arnie was employed as an instrumentation technician in Newfoundland and recently with Viking Fire Protection in Dartmouth. He leaves to mourn his only son Ian, the pride and joy of his life, and Ian’s mother Mary Grover, Corner Brook, Newfoundland; brother, Robert "Bobby", Dartmouth; many special uncles, aunts, cousins and friends in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador whose love, support and friendship he cherished throughout his life. Arnie was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Victor and Portia (Hull) Sangster; maternal grandparents, Clinton and Jennie (Feltmate) Grover. Special thanks to the staff of Dartmouth General and St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish along with the many family and friends who have supported Arnie and his family during his illness. Our hearts are sad but full from the love you have shared. A graveside service will be held in Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Cemetery Improvement Association of New Harbour. Funeral arrangements are under the dignified and compassionate care of G.W.Giffin Funeral Home, 17545 Hwy 316, Country Harbour. On-line condolences may be made at www.gwgiffin.com
