Norman Courtney Kelly
KELLY, Norman Courtney Age 87, of Sherbrooke, Guysborough Co., passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 in St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke. He was a son of the late John and Elsie (Myers) Kelly. Norman worked at Fairey Aviation in Shearwater as a mechanic for many years before moving on to Glen Robertson Volkswagen in Dartmouth. At one point in his life, Norman ran a delivery business out of Sherbrooke, then with the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission until his retirement at age 60. Norman loved camping when he was at his lot in Saltsprings or with his nephew, Tom, and his family; camping was number 1 on his fun list! Not sure which he preferred—camping or dancing in Country Harbour and Stellarton. His snowmobiling times over in Antigonish with Scottie Fraser were always a highlight. He is survived by sons, Scott (Kim), Edmonton; Glenn, Winnipeg; grandchildren, Angela Kelly, Mathew Kelly, Gaillynn Kelly, Sebastian Kelly; great-grandson, Angel Baskerville; brothers, Robert (Lois), Reginald (Doris); sisters, Colleen Kinley, Kelly Kelly (Leigh); sister-in-law, Bernice Kelly; many adoring nieces, nephews, and their families. He was predeceased by brother, Bruce; sister, Charlotte Carroll; brother-in-law, Lawrence Carroll. In accordance with Norman’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Celebration of Norman’s life will happen at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia would be appreciated. Arrangements are under the dignified and compassionate care of G.W.Giffin Funeral Home, 34 Main St., Sherbrooke. On-line condolences may be made at www.gwgiffin.com.
