Sponagle, Raymond Leroy,age92,
Goldboro, Guysborough Co., passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 in
High Crest Sherbrooke Home for Special Care. Born in Truro on December
23rd, 1922 to the late Vernon and Laura
Faulkner (Casey) Sponagle. Raymond served overseas in the Second World
War with the Nova Scotia Highlanders. He later worked on the Great
Lake Boats and in construction in Ottawa, Ont. He is survived by
half-brothers, Harvey and Purvis Sponagle of Goldboro, Wilfred
Sponagle, Country Harbour; half-sister, Nita Shaw of Truro;
stepchildren Neil and Dale Hanlon of Saint John, NB; several
step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his
wife, Marion (Warrington) Sponagle on March
19th of this year; brother, Frank, half-sister
Marion MacLennan and uncle, Tom Faulkner. A graveside service will be
held Monday, April 14th at 1 P.M., in Bayview Cemetery, Goldboro with
Lewis MacIntosh officiating. Memorial donations may be made to a
charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are under the dignified
