Rhynold, Nettie Jean Age 92, formerly of Whitehead and Canso, Guysborough County, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, in the Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough. Born in Toronto she was a daughter of the late Fred and Jean (Morrison) Ward. Nettie was a Corporal with the CWAC (Canadian Women’s Army Corp) 1943-1946, serving with Provost Corp in Toronto, a member of Canso Legion-Branch 46, a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Whitehead, past secretary-treasurer of the Church, past president of the Anglican Ladies Guild, and an avid golfer and a member of the Canso Shamrock Club. She is survived by sons, Will (Pat), Fred (Martha), both of Canso; daughter, Mary (Foster) Lohnes, Dartmouth; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Nettie was predeceased by her husband, Arthur; granddaughter Shannon Lohnes; brothers Alex, Fred, and Tom Ward; sister, Mary Smith.  Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso and from 10 am until time of funeral at 11 am on Saturday in the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Whitehead with Rev. Darroch Fagan officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
