FELTMATE, Chesley Elmo, Age 84,
Goshen, Guysborough Co., passed away peacefully with his wife Joyce by
his side on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, in High-Crest Sherbrooke Home
for Special Care. Born in Lochaber, he was a son of the late Seward
and Tiny(Cummings) Feltmate. Chesley grew up in Eight Island Lake and
moved to Goshen in his early teens. He farmed and trucked for the
Department of Highways in his early years. In 1964, he married Joyce
and continued his career until 1970. Chesley then worked for his
brother Merritt as a dozer operator until he retired in 1995. He
continued to work his own land cultivating christmas trees, pulpwood
and blueberries until 2013. Chesley is survived by his wife, Joyce;
daughters, Hope(Robert) Bryden, Goshen; Heather(David) Marley, San
Diego, California, USA; grandchildren, Kurtis, Kelly-Anne,
Chelsea & Marcus; brothers, Murray (Nell), Goshen;
Harold(Nan), New Minas; sisters in law, Vera, Goshen; Minnie &
Joyce, Ontario; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by
brothers, Gordon, Merritt, Rev. Donald, Arthur and sister in law,
Muriel Feltmate. Visitation will be held in Goshen
Gospel Church, Saturday November 1st from 2-4
and 7-9 p.m. from where the funeral service will be held Sunday at 2
p.m. with Pastor John Luten officiating. Interment in Sunset Cemetery,
Argyle. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to
the Sunset Cemetery Fund, Argyle, Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or
