Chisholm, Matthew David It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that the family announces the tragic loss of Matthew Chisholm, 31, on November 19, 2014. Born July 30, 1983, Matt was an uplifting spirit who positively impacted the lives of everyone around him. Son of Nancy (Pettipas) and Allister Chisholm, boyfriend to Erin Rebecca Crosby, and cousin to 68. Matt had a worldly upbringing, spending his childhood in Singapore where he first honed his love and passion for the movie industry before returning to Canada to attend Dalhousie University and the Centre for Arts and Technology. Matt found the joy in life and made sure those around him experienced the same. An animal lover, avid gamer and award-winning member of the Halifax filmmaking community, Matt’s work has delighted festival audiences worldwide. He was a creative force whose genius can never be replaced, and will be dearly missed by all those who were lucky to have met him. Matt, you were a light too bright to be put out so early. A celebration of his life will take place at 7pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at the Seahorse on Argyle Street in Halifax, doors are open to all those who knew and loved him, and again at the Communities Along the Bay Multipurpose Center, Bradford Pellerin Room, Larry’s River, Guysborough County, on Friday November 28, 2014 from 10am to 12pm and 2-4pm, with funeral mass to follow in St. Peter’s Parish Church at 4pm with Father McLennan officiating.
