McInnis, Daniel Joseph Age 58,
Drum Head, passed away peacefully after a short but aggressive battle
with cancer on Saturday May 23 2015, in St. Martha’s
Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Danny was born in Glace Bay and was a
son of Joseph and the late Mary (Bray) McInnis. As a 17 year old boy
Danny joined the Military attending RRMC and RMC. He had a
career for 21 years as an Air Weapons Controller, having his last
posting in Winnipeg where he met his wife Judy and they took their
retirement. Danny moved to Drum Head where they built their
dream home overlooking the ocean he loved so much. He then went on to
a second career at StFX University filling numerous positions
finishing as Associate Registrar and filling the role of Registrar
twice. Danny worked hard to achieve his dream of early retirement and
spent the rest of his time traveling the world with Judy.
His happiest times were on a warm sunny beach. Danny is
survived by his wife Judy Burke, son Daniel (Venus) McInnis, Brandon
MB; daughter, Angela (Justin) Counter, Ottawa ON; grandchildren,
Daniel, Benjamin, Brooklyn and Eric. He is survived by his father,
Joseph McInnis and siblings: Mary (Ryu) Yokoo; Anne(Nigel) Kelly;
Andrew (Xiaoping) McInnis; Theresa (Kevin) Wile; Vivian (Scott)
Collacutt; Gerard McInnis; Eileen (Monty) McInnis. Danny was
predeceased by his mother Mary McInnis and his brother Michael McInnis
(in infancy). In keeping with Danny's wishes, a private
service will take place on Friday. Memorial donations in Danny's
memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral
