With shattered hearts, we announce the passing of Howard
Burton Kaiser who left peacefully with family by his side on Thursday,
July 15, 2021. With passion in his heart reserved for his
beautiful family and friends, his beloved "Sea Mist Cafe",
and a hot cup of tea, Howard often spoke of just how blessed he was.
Blessed to have seen not just his children grow, but his grandchildren
and great-grandchildren. With saltwater in his veins, Howard
was a fisherman at heart. He began his career at sea as a young
teenager and retired (or so we thought) in 1993, when he was ready for
a new adventure. Famous for his fish and chips, he was the
owner/operator of "Sea Mist Cafe" in Port Bickerton, where
customers would come from hours away just to get a taste of his
spectacular talents in the kitchen. He was also a member of
the Anglican Church. A special thank you to all the
staff at St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital in Sherbrooke. Your
care and compassion will forever be appreciated and never
forgotten. Howard is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou
Kaiser (MacIntosh) of 58 years; his children, (3 P’s in a
pod), Peter (Claire) Kaiser, Patty Lou (Andy) McGrath and Perry
(Myrna) Kaiser; 4 grandchildren, Alisha (Marshall) Childs, Mallori
(Ian) Nickerson, Garrett (Bailey) McGrath and Sydni (Layne) Kaiser; 9
great-grandchildren, Makenzi, Riley, Hailey, Zander, Cayden, Lux,
Beau, Johnathan Howard and Calvin (with the girls of the family he
nicknamed "Pup’s Dolls"); sisters, Gertie
and Ola (Alex); brother, Hibbert (Betty); sisters-in-law, Patsy
(Gordon) and Judy (Leonard); brother-in-law, Sonny. Howard/Pup will be
forever missed, loved dearly and will always be thought of with a
smile, a laugh and a promise to meet again. Howard who was
born on April 12, 1940, was predeceased by his parents, Francis
Maxwell and Effie Grace; siblings, Jean Adelia (who died in infancy),
Chester, Dorothy (Dot), Floyd, Jim and brothers-in-law, Seward,
Jackie, Everette and sister-in-law, Linda. A private family graveside
funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in
Hillside Cemetery, Port Bickerton. In lieu of flowers,
memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Memorial
Hospital, Sherbrooke or St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Port
Bickerton. Funeral arrangements are under the dignified and
compassionate care of G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, 34 Main St.,
Sherbrooke. On-line condolences may be made at www.gwgiffin.com.
