SANGSTER, Ida Mae Leola Age 86 of New Harbour, Guysborough County passed away in the R. K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish on Saturday, January 22, 2022. Born in New Harbour, she was a daughter of the late James and Lulu (Nickerson) Wright. Before getting married she worked at Guysborough General Store. She was a homemaker who spent a lot of time in the kitchen, preparing meals, knitting or quilting when time allowed. In later years she enjoyed outings to the Harbourview Community Centre, and sometimes Guysborough and surrounding communities for seniors’ activities, or to GOALS. She is survived by son, Norman Glen (Muriel) Wright, Bible Hill; daughters, Brenda Sangster (Shelly Gosse), Ottawa, Ontario; Della (David) Sangster, Truro; granddaughters, Heather Wright (Josh Ainsworth), Bible Hill; Angela (Jamey) Sangster, New Harbour; great-grandchildren, Cameron Russell, Zoey Ann Russell, Kayla Sangster, Brandon Sangster; sisters, Mary Luddington, New Harbour; Geraldine Childs, Coddles Harbour; Jennie Crooks, Drum Head; Shirley Wright, Eastern Passage; brothers, James Wright, Kinuso, Alberta; Wayne Wright, New Harbour; many nieces, nephews and their families. Ida Mae was predeceased by her husband, Harry; sisters, Elva, Kathleen; brother, Marshall; infant brother, Hazen. A graveside service will be held Monday at 1 P.M. in Riverside Cemetery, New Harbour with Rev. David Wheeler officiating. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to the Cemetery Improvement Association of New Harbour. All COVID-19 restrictions will be followed including proof of full vaccination. Funeral arrangements are under the dignified and compassionate care of G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, 17545 Highway 316, Country Harbour.
