HUDSON, Theodora "Dora" age 76 of Country Harbour, Guysborough County, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022 in High-Crest Sherbrooke Home for Special Care. She was a daughter of the late Gerrit and Gerritina (Schoonheden) DeCroos. She made the voyage over to Nova Scotia from DenHelder, Holland with her parents when she was 11 years old. Dora loved farm work in her early years and gardening. She loved animals especially her cats and Scott and Eric’s dogs. Dora had a huge heart and was always willing to help anybody. She loved to go outside at night and gaze at the full moon; loved seeing the first snow and freezing rain on the trees. Dora enjoyed all kinds of music especially country music. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She loved singing in the choir at Goshen Gospel Church. Dora is survived by her husband, Brian; sons, Eric (Nadine), Pleasant Valley; Scott (Rachel), Country Harbour; grandchildren, Riley, Jeremy (Jenna), Jacob (Samantha); special grandkids, Sarah and Cameron Giffin; brothers, John (Charrollet), London, Ontario; Maarton (Janet), Waterford, Ontario; brother-in-law, Clifford Hudson; sisters-in-law, Arnita Hudson-Giffin, Darlene (Kevin) Connolly, Jean Hudson; many nieces, nephews and their families; special nephew, Rocky (Michelle) Hudson; special niece, Bonnie Summers; great niece, Hannah; She was predeceased by brothers-in-law, Phil Hudson, Dalton Hudson; nephews, Marty DeCroos and Timmy Hudson. A funeral service for family only will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour with Pastor John Luten officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Cathy's Place, Diabetes Canada, High-Crest Sherbrooke Home for Special Care or Goshen Gospel Church.
