Worth, Alexander Harold "Alex" age 77 of Stormont, Guysborough Co., passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Country Harbour, he was a son of the late Harold and Bessie (Smith) Worth. He worked as a pulp cutter for various contractors. For more than 40 years, Alex was supervisor for Mersey Seafoods when the boats were being unloaded at Stormont wharf; he liked working with all the guys and was the first boss most of them had, there may have been some caring-on and practical jokes, "not during work hours". He enjoyed trips down the river, puttering in his shed, and watching the Toronto Maple Leafs play; he loved Joyce and the girls; adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alex is survived by his wife, Joyce (Hallett); daughters, Stacey (Harris) Hayne, Country Harbour; Lori Worth (Wally Childs), Coddles Harbour; Tina Worth (John Bell), Antigonish; Joanne Worth, Halifax; grandchildren; Bailey Hayne (Ryan Vanoirschot), Taylor Hayne, Logan Childs; great-grandchildren, Harrison and Olivia; brothers, Frank (Linda); Irvin; Lawrence (Brenda); Jack (Clem); David (Nancy) sisters, Ethel (Lloyd) MacArthur; Francis Wright; Anna (Walter) Humphrey; many nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by half-brother, Bill Smith. Memorial donations in may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. No visitation or funeral by his request.
