HARTLING, Darren
Kenneth age 57 of Spanish Ship Bay, Guysborough County passed away,
surrounded by his family and friends, on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 in
St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke. He was a son of
the late Frank and Vivian (Reid) Hartling. Darren worked as a deckhand
in the lobster fishery. Darren was very knowledgeable and wise, an
excellent photographer, he loved "his music". He volunteered
as a firefighter with Sherbrooke and Liscomb Volunteer Fire
Departments, and served on the Executive Committee of Liscomb Legion
Branch 86. Darren is survived by brothers, Jimmie, New Glasgow; Barry
(Brenda), Eden Lake; sisters, Mary (Allan) Nauffts, Spanish Ship Bay;
Reta (Wayne) McIndless, Ontario; Lucy Stuart, Abercrombie; Viola
Wilson (Eddie Green), New Minas; 16 nieces and nephews; 18
great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister in infancy.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, March
18th at 4:00 pm in St. Luke’s
Anglican Church, Liscomb with Rev. Sue Channen officiating. Interment
in St. Luke’s Anglican Cemetery, Liscomb. A reception will
follow in Liscomb Legion Hall. Family flowers only please. Memorial
donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Funeral
arrangements are under the dignified and compassionate care of G. W.

Sherbrooke.
