HORNE, Ellie Margaret Dawn Age 10 of Drum Head, Guysborough County passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Ellie was the daughter of Haley Nickerson (Pasquale) and Billy Horne (Melissa). Ellie was a shining light in her family. She loved her dolls, video games, movies and warm cuddly blankets to curl up in. Ellie loved family get togethers and sleep-overs at her grandparents and friends homes. She loved all animals especially her pets. She was proud to be attending École Torbé, the French Immersion School in Larry’s River and "hoped she would get a good job with her second language, French." She was a good friend to many and always protected and helped a friend in need. She loved her cousins and there were many, she loved spending time with them. Her love for make-up, jewelry and dressing-up fancy just made her shine all that much brighter. Ellie is survived by her grandparents, Natalie Langley (Edison), David (Theresa) Nickerson; great-grandparents, Glenn and Faye Langley; aunts and uncles, Brandon (Ty), Nicholas (Destiny), Barbara (Robbie), Mallory (Jason), Chris, Michael (Nancy), Fabian (Shawna); special aunts and uncles, Thomas (Helen), Dorothy, Bernice, Darlene, Bruce, Jason; many friends, cousins, great aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Beatrice and William "Bill" Horne; great-grandmother, Clissy Nickerson; and nanny, Ellie Langley, her name-sake. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 p.m. followed by funeral service at 4 p.m. in Communities Along the Bay Multipurpose Center, Larry’s River, with Pastor Philip Woodill officiating. Family flowers only please. Donations in Ellie’s memory may be made to École Torbé. A special thank you to the staff of Guysborough Memorial Hospital and G.W. Giffin Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are under the dignified and compassionate care of G.W. Giffin Funeral Home Ltd., 17545 Highway 316, Country Harbour.
