McGrath, Ruby Christine age 91 of Wine Harbour, Guysborough County passed away on Friday, February, 2, 2024 in High-Crest Sherbrooke Home for Special Care. She was a daughter of the late Roland and Nellie (Sangster) Slater. In her earlier years, Ruby was a hairdresser and seamstress.  She was a full time homemaker and mother who loved to knit. She was very active at Wine Harbour Independent Baptist Church serving as organist where her husband, Rev. Arthur McGrath served as Pastor for 25 years. She played the organ at a number of churches. Ruby is survived by her sons, Tim (Lana), Jordanville; Cliff (Jane), Campbell River, B.C.; Dave (Marilyn), Black Creek, B.C.; daughter, Cheryl (Matt), Long Prairie, MN, USA; 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ruth McGrath, Phyllis McGrath and Roberta McGrath; several nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her first husband, Rev. Arthur McGrath, second husband, George McGrath; sons, Mark (Anita), Russell, and Allison in infancy; brother, Douglas (Eileen) Slater; sisters, Dorothy (Al) MacKenzie, Eva (Fred) Cullen, Rose (Clayton) Hart, Erna (Phil) Webster; brothers-in-law, George (Kathleen) McGrath, Charles (Maude) McGrath, Leigh McGrath, John McGrath and Robert McGrath. Visitation will be held Thursday from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. followed by funeral service at 2 p.m. in Calvary Faith Baptist Church, Sonora with Pastor Wayne Bray officiating..Interment in Wine Harbour Cemetery at a later date.
