NIELSEN, Carla Margaret age 47 of Port Bickerton, Guysborough County passed away peacefully with her loving family at her bedside on February 13th, 2024, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.

Born in Windsor, NS, on December 23, 1976 to Bent Nielson and Ruthie Dick. From a young age Carla was raised by her mom and dad, Nan and Rodney Kaiser of Port Bickerton. Growing up in Port Bickerton, Carla was the baby of 6. In her younger years, Carla enjoyed hunting and fishing which set precedence for her post secondary education to study her first seaman’s course after she graduated from St. Mary’s Rural High School in 1995.

Carla’s greatest joy and proudest moment was when she became a mom to her son Ethan on September 16th, 2005. He was her whole world, she was so proud he was going to graduate this coming June.

Carla is survived by her beloved son, Ethan Nielsen; brothers, Rodney (Shelley) Kaiser; Troy (Fern) Kaiser; Trent (Mamie) Kaiser; sisters, Rhonda Jack; Nancy Lynn (Brian) Humphries; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and their families.

She was predeceased by her birth mother, Ruthie Dick; her dad, Rodney Kaiser; infant nephew, Nicholas Kaiser and brother-in-law, Bruce Jack.

A special heartfelt thank you to all of the staff at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital for their compassionate care given over the past 4 years. A Special acknowledgment to the nurses on ALC Unit for their loving care, befriending Carla and brightening her days. Words will never express the gratitude we have for you.
