RHYNOLD, Herman Frederick age 72
of Antigonish, and formerly of Whitehead, Guysborough County,
peacefully crossed over to the other shore on Monday, July 22, 2024,
in the Palliative Care Unit at St. Martha’s Regional
Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Whitehead, he was a son of the late
Herman and Agnes (Rhynold) Rhynold.
In earlier years, Hermie worked happily at a variety of
different jobs, both in Nova Scotia and Ontario, until ill health and
multiple surgeries forced him take a step back. He enjoyed a good game
of darts and cards, especially cribbage or 45s, in which he always
seemed to have the ace tucked up his sleeve, and it wasn’t
always because of the luck of the deal. Throughout his younger years,
he took great pleasure in hunting and fishing with family and friends,
especially his lifelong friends, Doug and Murray.
He is survived by son, Ainsley (Mira), Lethbridge, AB;
daughter, Shelly (Ryan), Coxheath; grandchildren, Kaleb, Tarin,
Taylor, Emmett; brothers, Patrick (Flossie), Whitehead, Stanley
(Nancy), Guelph, ON; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. He
was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Karen (Boudreau); brothers,
Harry and James "Jim"; sisters, Patricia, Violet, Mary and
Edna.
Cremation has taken place under care and guidance of G.W.
Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour. Visitation will be held
Saturday, September 7th from 11 a.m. until time of memorial service at
1 p.m. in the Whitehaven Community Hall with Lewis MacIntosh
officiating. A private family committal to follow.
At the request of the family, please do not send flowers.
