VEINOTTE, Wayne
Douglas age 79 of Country Harbour, Guysborough Co.,
passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, August
30, 2024 in High-Crest Sherbrooke Home for Special Care. Born in
Antigonish, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Florence (Mason)
Veinotte. Wayne was known for his willingness to help and lend a hand
to anyone in need. His skill in fixing and building nearly anything
was matched only by his generosity and kindness. His ability to laugh
at a joke and himself was a true gift to those who knew him.
His contributions and warm spirit will be deeply missed by
family, friends, and the many lives he touched. Wayne is survived by
his wife, Marie (Hodgson), sons, Kyle (Mary), Halifax; Ryan, Halifax;
grandchildren, Brayden and Cameron; brothers, Melvin (Sheila), Country
Harbour; Jim (Hazel), Antigonish; sisters, Linda (Wade) Keith, Country
Harbour; Marion MacGregor, Lochaber; brothers-in-law, Bernie (Jessie)
Hodgson, Truro; Angus (Darlene), Borneo; Kay Hodgson, New Glasgow;
sister-in-law, Mary Veinotte, Antigonish; many nieces, nephews and
their families. He was predeceased by his brother, Harry Veinotte;
father and mother-in- law, Harry and Helen Hodgson; brothers-in-law,
Jackie MacGregor, Bayne (Roma) Hodgson; sisters-in-law, Audrey
Hodgson, Katherine (Noel) Levasseur. Visitation will be held Sunday,
September 8th from 1 p.m. until time of funeral
service at 2 p.m. in G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour with
Lewis MacIntosh officiating. Interment will follow the service in
Evergreen Cemetery, Cross Roads Country Harbour. A
reception will be held in the Country Harbour Gun Club following the
committal service. Memorial donations may be made to the
